Class Description

 Carve your own canoe paddle while camping on the bank of the beautiful Saint Croix river! Combine the pleasure of being in nature, learning, and shearing wooden fibers with a sharp plane. Carving a canoe paddle from a solid piece of cherry is an inspiring way to familiarize yourself with your tool's capabilities, and yours.

Each participant will be carving one custom-sized paddle made of solid cherry. This two-day class will provide everything you need to carve your paddle. Bring camping gear and food, and be prepared to enjoy good company. 

We recommend arriving the night before so you can jump into shearing wood fibers first thing in the morning! The campsite is located about 1.5h away from Twin Cities, all details will be provided in advance for the class participants.
